Why my rev limiter is at 7k??? w/ no VTEC!
I have a 95 acura integra ls special edition. It has a jdm type r complete change over, beside the wiring harness. jdm p73 ecu with the jumper. My rev limiter is at 7k and no vtec at all? Somebody help me!!! I am a new honda owner, so help....
sounds like your vtec isn't working. 7k is about where the primary lobe falls apart & won't pull any higher. i accidently forgot to completely plug in the solenoid once and had the same thing happen. the fact it didn't jump hard at 5700 was my first clue.
I checked and the vtec soleniod is plug in, but I don't feel the vtec kick in at all and the worst is that it only revs up to 7k and it drops... The jumper conversion is brand spanking new... obd1 to obd2a...

i have that same setup, a jdm itr swap with a p73-003 ecu, it's obd2 and a direct plug in a 96-99 GSR harness
does anybody has the p73 pin out diagram? I just want to make sure what wire do I connect to what? To make my car rev normal and my vtec working condition. helppp
look up instructions on the apexi vafc2 the pinout is shown there. also try googling things like vtec obd2 pin out, gsr pin out, type r pin etc..
i'm guessing you're using the ls engine harness, so you're gonna have to wire the vtec into the ecu harness. thats prob gonna solve the no vtec thing.
but with the redline at 7k w/the itr ecu...i'm stumped...
also, did you do the swap? if not take it back to the shop that did it and make them fix it...

don't be. 7k is about where it feels like you have a redline if vtec doesn't hit hard yo

the primary lobe isn't to support rpm past that point.
like in the ecu? how strange. if the vtec lobes don't kick there isn't like a cut off limit. the engine just doesn't wanna pull past 7k. this is the first i've heard of a delimiter, what happened ?
also, where does your car idle at(when warmed up)? if anything over 1k rpm then probably its your tach...
