sounds like your vtec isn't working. 7k is about where the primary lobe falls apart & won't pull any higher. i accidently forgot to completely plug in the solenoid once and had the same thing happen. the fact it didn't jump hard at 5700 was my first clue.

could be a wiring issue. that ecu is plug and play in a gsr. with an ls or rs you have a few things to re wire

I checked and the vtec soleniod is plug in, but I don't feel the vtec kick in at all and the worst is that it only revs up to 7k and it drops... The jumper conversion is brand spanking new... obd1 to obd2a...

? the jdm itr ecu is obd2, what in the world do you have going on?

i have that same setup, a jdm itr swap with a p73-003 ecu, it's obd2 and a direct plug in a 96-99 GSR harness

look up instructions on the apexi vafc2 the pinout is shown there. also try googling things like vtec obd2 pin out, gsr pin out, type r pin etc..

i'm guessing you're using the ls engine harness, so you're gonna have to wire the vtec into the ecu harness. thats prob gonna solve the no vtec thing.

but with the redline at 7k w/the itr ecu...i'm stumped...

also, did you do the swap? if not take it back to the shop that did it and make them fix it...

You answered your own question in your post, it the wiring, you didn't pin the two vtec wires, and knock sensor.

don't be. 7k is about where it feels like you have a redline if vtec doesn't hit hard yo

the primary lobe isn't to support rpm past that point.

i had the same problem on my jdm integra when i imported it, turned out there was a delimiter on it which was broke and causing it to limit!

like in the ecu? how strange. if the vtec lobes don't kick there isn't like a cut off limit. the engine just doesn't wanna pull past 7k. this is the first i've heard of a delimiter, what happened ?

exactly as above would not let the vtec kick in at 6200 then i would hit the redline around 7, now im hitting my redline around 9200

your tach is off. vtec hits at 5700-5800 and the rev limiter completely cuts it off by 8700

if you're using a stock itr ecu then redline is at 8400. if you go past that 1) your ecu is chipped 2) your tach is broken.

also, where does your car idle at(when warmed up)? if anything over 1k rpm then probably its your tach...
