'96 Radiator Fan Runs Continuously/Erratically
Hello. New to the forum and this is my first post, and wouldn't ya know it... I've got a problem! I've got a 1996 Honda Accord EX 2.2 VTEC Sedan that I'm having trouble with. The battery will be dead in the mornings, and I discovered late one night that the radiator cooling fan is running continuously!
Now I am mechanically inclined and I have done quite a bit of troubleshooting, even thought I had it fixed at one point, but the problem has returned. Initially I replaced cooling fan switch (B), since when I would unplug it the fan would turn off. That seemed to solve the problem and it worked fine for about a week, but now the fan runs continuously regardless of whether or not that switch is unplugged. As a matter of fact the cooling fan now runs with both cooling fan switch (A) and (B) unplugged! I have verified there are no shorts in the wiring from the relay box to the fan, the relay has been swapped out and tested in good working order.
At this point my only remaining thought would be that the radiator fan control module is going haywire, and just short of troubleshooting it I thought I'd make a quick post and see if anyone has had this issue and possibly some advice for me so I can get this fixed sooner than later (that and it's midnight so I'm going to bed instead of troubleshooting further right now). Any insight provided will be greatly appreciated.
