Video of Darin's Supra from the NSCRA Event
Here are Darin's runs from the NSCRA race in West Palm Beach last weekend. He ran his car in Street Outlaw 6 cylinder.

He qualified #1 with an 8.62, and made it to the final round but broke his diff after the run against Big Daddy so he couldn't make it to the line for the finals. His car ran good all day, though the track got worse and worse as the day went on so it was going to be impossible to improve on his 8.62. This is the setup on his car now. It's a "budget setup" he put together for the time being until he either sells the car, or wins the lottery so he can afford put a more powerful combination in it.
3.0L stock crank,
stock main caps
Je pistons/Carillo Rods
Mild port,
ferrea valvetrain,
stock size valves.
Titan 2S cams
GT47 80mm
Stock Intake Manifold/TB Motec M600
Weldon 2035
VP Q16 Fuel
Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors
NX Direct port single stage 125hp
We just wanted to thank John Brown and the PBIR for putting on the event, as well as Jason Siu for all the work he has been doing for the NSCRA as well. We had a great time and hopefully will be out at the other events later in the year, maybe even with both cars.

Im not surprised the diff broke, that thing was launching hard all day. Im glad I got to see that car in person. Good luck at the next event.
Yea its been sixty-footing crazy! He got the car done on the sunday of BOTI in time for the 2nd round of qualifying, and since then he's done 8 passes on this set up with 7 passes being between 1.29-1.33 60's and one 1.38. That is amazing for a 6 speed supra. We are usually doing something right just to be in the low 1.4's!
WOW! darin and this car never stop getting faster and more amazing. its a real no nonsense sleeper especially with the six speed. if i win the lottery i want that car!!

He was running the carrillo H beam rods in that methanol set up. The car made over 1500hp on boost alone, crazy amount of torque all very quick, like 30psi of boost on a 91mm turbo by 5500rpm. So he has rod failure because those things aren't rated for that kind of torque. All the rods were bent in the same weak spot and one just let go. He knew it would happen but wanted to see how long they would last and it wasn't long enough. He just didn't have the kind of money he needs to build that motor the way he needed, like aluminum rods and dry sump. Oh well, he's having much more fun this way, simple set up, cheap fuel and he can drive it to the track, run and drive it home, like we did at BOTI.
Are those the same rods that failed on SW's car in the mile event? Its a shame the 2JZ's still have untapped potential but are now limited on the rods, I know those Carillo's dont come cheap and I was under the assumption they are the best besides going the AL route.
Yea its a 7.91 held by SW in his Boostlogic supra. He is seriously one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, he also holds some record in the mile going 246mph! Darin has been 8.38 with his 88m set up.. I think he can get this one pretty close to that. He only sprayed 2nd gear on those runs so if he can get some more of those 1.29 60's and spray all the way, we could see some even faster times! Im sure he will bring it down to more NSCRA events and he wants to do ImportsVs Domestics in Maryland.
Yes, but SW's broke differently, I think he spun a bearing then lost the rod.SW thinks his motor clearances weren't right but he's also going almost 250mph without a drysump which isn't helping im sure.
