anyone ever heard of this? my tach and speedometer just go nuts randomly. it makes the car run extremely poorly. i have NO CLUE what else it could be.... i have no CELs. i put the motor in this winter and im still working to get it running right. i have a brand spanking new: coil, cap, rotor, o2 sensor, and still nothing. its getting a little expensive to keep playing guessing games. if anyone could help that would be awesome

i have one from battery to chassis, starter to frame, valve cover to core support, and head to shock tower. need more? :S

 

My car did this exact same thing. When it starts running like **** put it in second gear and slow down A LOT but dont press in the clutch. I was doing this one day and it threw a CEL finally. it ended up being the VSS. I changed it and it was fine after that

 

well ill make sure it has a good connection tomorrow. its just frustrating as hell. would that cause the tach to go hawire also though?

It could be the ECU...possibly a malfuntion of some kind with that.

 

my gauges went crazy when my remote starter began messing with all my eletricals. do you have remote start or any non-factory electronics?

i removed everything the first owner had in it; guages, shift lift, etc. i have an ecu that is chipped for 450's and it still would not run right...

UPDATE: replace the igniter today with a brand new one, now it backfires out the intake timing belt is dead on, all grounds are there/// im about to give..

 

When my car was on the dyno, the tach was moving erratically. Checked everything and finally replaced the plugs. All good after that. Try swapping that out first.

 

will do.. theyre new ngks though that have maybe 50 miles on them

she is running well now. very well. and the logical grounds were cut off by the previous owner :\ wow.
