b16a2 next step for more power?
I have a 99 civic si
b16a2 w/
Greddy full exhaust
DC 4-1 header
aem cold air intake
9lb. chromoly flywheel
exedy stage 1 clutch
I want to make more power out of my motor, but not spend a ton of money in a turbo or anything like that
what would be a good next step?
i was thinking a skunk2 manifold with a bigger throttle body?
what do you guys think?
oh motor has 115k

i would do a 4.7 final drive for a round 600 you could have a noticeable difference in power. If you do the bigger t/b and s/2 intake you will not totally beniffit from it unless it is tuned. Which means jumper harness and a socketed ecu (unless thats already done) then there is dyno time. Thats just my 2 cents though!
I'd prefer to not spray, my motor won't last long. Besides it's a daily driver, right now I'm not sure how much power I'm putting down, but I'm sure it's close to stocks numbers

blox intake manifold, sk2 tuner cams, sk2 valves, springs and retainers, lightweight pulleys, cam gears, chip your ecu and get it tuned. Wha Bam! that should be all under $1700
Meanwhile, in your horrible failure of an attempt to be an e-thug, you use the wrong word in your sentence.
Once the above is done and tuned on say a p28 with hondata how much much would you all ESTIMATE he could safely be putting to the ground?
what do you want to do with the car is the first question to answer.
then you have to play with in the smog rules of CA. i have a close set up to yours and i am putting 160 at the hub (Church's in SO CAL) on the stock ECU. with a tune i would be about 170 per Shawn.
Ii have part to get very close to 200 at the hub and meet CAL smog. but i would have to change the ECU when i test the car.
if you have to get a ECU, just get an AEM, plugged for the car and it is about the same pierce as a hondata with a s300.

It would be a bit hard to get more power without having the proper funds. The best way to get some easy power would be building your head. Skunk2 is your best option. Start with some tuner series stage 2 cams & the pro series valvetrain(flat valves, retainers, dual valve springs). Upgrade the intake manifold, get a nice 68mm TB, upgrade your fuel system by replacing the fuel rail & injectors. BDL rails usually run for $120 & some RC injectors can run up to $200.
Now header selection....
You can go from DTR to Hytech or RMF to Bisimoto. These are high priced headers that you will definitely notice the outcome. Even getting them used but still in excellent condition would be worth coming up on these. You can use the exedy kit but look into replacing the disc with a ACT clutch disc since exedy doesn't sell the disc separate.
Hope this helps you a bit.
