If you have a '94 - '95 automatic LS teg and use the OBD1 GS-R automatic tranny, ECU and TCU i suspect it will be plug and play. (be aware that OBD1 P72 automatic ECUs use an OBD2 style EPROM and you aren't likely to find anyone capable of reprograming the ECU for an LS-vtec setup, which kind of limits you to a stock GS-R swap. Regardless its not really worth doing, honda automatics don't last long when you start making more power than they were designed for, and they aren't cheap or easy to build up either. Theres a reason why you've never heard of anyone doing this.

Pic of JDM OBD1 Automatic P72 ECU shown below so you wont think i'm crazy about the EPROM issue, pic courtesy of Katman.

If you use the LS tranny and TCU you might be alright, i'm not sure how using a GS-R ECU with LS TCU is going to work as far as shift points are concerned, I think it will work though.

As far as doing this to be different, being different for the sake of being different is kind of stupid, do something different because its better, not just for the sake of being different.

I hate to bring back such an old post on such a despised topic but... I must, as this thread was helpful in my search.

Trying to fix a botched B series auto swap into an EK3 CVT chassis. The car is obd1 and I have access to buy a GSR auto ecu. it's a stock motor so no need to attempt any ecu modification. What should I be looking for as far as a TCU in this car ? Is it external from the ecu ?

The gsr automatic ecu does not support a separate tcu. The shift, tc controls, and speed sensors are wired directly into the ecu's 4th plug. My daughter has a DelSol with a gsr automatic swap and it's pretty sick! Shorter gearing than the ls transmission and it shifts at 7900 rpm!
