Track Driven EF Civics Chime In
I posted this in the EF forums but got no reply.
Hello Guys
I recently completed putting my B series swapped EF civic back together after a transmission rebuild and an alignment. I had a chance to take my Civic out to do an autocross and a NASA road course event without any trouble. Last night I decided to take it out and do some ¼ mle passes at the local drag strip and ran into some trouble. I had some serious wheel-hop on my first and only pass and I immediately noticed that my steering wheel was way off by about 45 degrees. I also noticed that the front wheels were way out of alignment – with some serious toe-out on each front wheel.
After doing a quick inspections of the tie rods/axels/suspension I went ahead and called it a night and drove it home and got it up on some jack stands for a closer look. I checked the sub frame mounting points, steering rack, inner/outer tie rods and they all seemed fine.
My question to you guys- Have any you EF guys ran into this issue where your alignment gets way off all of a sudden- especially after a bad launch or some hard driving? Is this a common problem?
Thanks in advance for your input.

its most likely the stock bushings in your factory crossmember. most guys who race there EF's usually have at the minimum upgraded bushings, but more likely some sort of aftermarket crossmember with heim joints. that and poly motor mounts will go a long way to solving your wheel hop issues.
yes like said above the mounts and traction bars will help a great deal. also get a good tire and never used regular street tires. dr's or slicks are ur best bet after the other two upgrades.
