I see that the 09 has an optional navi system avil for it. Is it avil like the 92-95 civic ac units were as a deal installed option? So if I wanted to get one lets say for the ***** and giggles of it could I order a kit or would I have to source on from a salvage yard?

 

Its a factory installed system, that is preloaded with all software necessary to run, just like any other factory Navi system on the market.

**Re-reading your post, are you looking at a NEW car? or to put the Honda Navi in your already purchased vehicle.

If you are looking at a new car, yes it will come as seen below from factory.

If you are planning on putting an aftermarket navi system in your already purchased civic(without navi) go with an aftermarket brand IMO, then you can play DVD's as well as CD's and also have Navi. If you are purchasing an aftermarket you will need to buy one of these dash kits and you will lose your steering wheel mounted controls

Also, Navi has been optional in Civic's since 06 (maybe it was 07)

 

yeah I already bought the car it was an after thought if it was avil as a kit it might be something to do later down the road. I am sure that it would not be the easiest thing to add and aftermarket would be cheepper but since when have honda owners done things the easy way?
