GSR swap into an 01 LS
Hey guys. The timing belt broke on my 01 LS and the engine is shot. What additional parts would I need to swap a 94-97 GSR engine in?
Things i have come across so far:
-New ECU
-Possible exhaust length difference?
The immobilizer system was bypassed when my alarm was installed...

Great reply. Really sounds like you know what you are talking about. The search on this website is garbage now. Is there really nobody that has done this swap?
you can just get your ecu chipped. and the mounts you currently have will work fine, unless they need to be replaced due to wear. the harness you have might be ok, but you would have to wire up vtec, so it might just be easier to change harness as well. as far as exhaust, i'm pretty sure the one you got now would work fine. if i'm wrong, someone please correct me.

use your current exhaust manifold on the gsr engine

get and obd 2b p72 you need the senor off the top of ya ls manifold and youll need the crank sensor at the crank pulley use your stock ls harness wirin in vtec and knock senor

in all states? i mean, you i understand in california. but the op is in minnesota. his laws might be different. in pa, it really doesn't matter i don't think. at least, not where i live, we don't have emissions. and if the block is only stamped b18c1, how are they going to know what year it came out of?
