Default Spun bearing..can I reuse gsr block?

I got a gsr block that spun a rod bearing twice and ruined the crank.

what I want to know is can I get another good gsr crank and some aftermarket rods/pistons and new bearings and rebuild the motor?

or is the block bad karma since it spun rod bearings twice on the original crank?

please lmk.

it's probably cheaper to find another long block and rebuild from there.

i dont know why you would get a new block you may have had a bad balanced rotating assembly was the motor rebuilt?

either way you are replacing everything in the motor so why spend money on a long block if you choose to get a new motor then let me know how much you would want for the motor with the spun bearing

get another crank and have the block and crank checked.. bring the assembled rotating assembly to a well known machineing performance shop.. some of them will do some machaning on the crank rods and bearings.. some tricks they use on the v8 motors they build they can use on our 4 cylinders

i would make sure you have all the crank journals line bored just to ensure they are all the same and wont cause another crank/bearing failure

I got the messed up longblock from a friend for free so cost not an issue. I can get another crank also for free I would just have to buy rods and pistons because I want to go aftermarket for higher compression.

do you all think the block would be ok with another crank in it with new bearings etc.? If I using new rods and pistons they cant affect it correct?

i wouldnt trust the block being in good condition i would have it checked out like i said bring it to a performance shop and have them check everything.. and depending on how bad the crank is they might be able to save that as well

if you get the block all checked and rebuilt it using a good crank and all new components you should be in the clear.
