Default gsr cant keep an idle (just dies)

i rebuilt my motor and put a skunk2 mani and now i have code #14 (IACV) and when i fist start the motor it idles fine at 1k then wen i took it around the block to break it in it starts to die on me everytime the revs come down to 1k..my IACV was fine wen i had the old gsr mani so idk.. any ideas?

Are the ports on the iacv blocked??Did u check your vacuum lines also?

if you have a CEL for you IACV then thats your problem!

the only vacuum not connected is the hose from the purge valve to the evap canister..everthing else is connected with no leaks

you have two holes in that that check air in the maifold. clean them out. the two lines on the back side are for coolant. also, if your timing is off i can cause or help cause this. you may have a faulty iacv if you actually have a code for one. normally dirty ones never throw codes, your idle is just off.

yea i was driving around just it was a pain trying to keep it reved...i cleaned the ports but still the same problem..im gonna get another iacv 2morrow

yes the iacv has ports that check air most of the time they are clogged with carbon so try to clean it and check if all necessary vacuum lines r in place could also cause it

take off your iacv and clean it with brake clean see if that works if it dosn double check all of your vaccum lines does the idle surge at start up?

i cleaned the iacv and it still shows the cel.. i dont think a vaccum would trigger the cel. and i check all vacuum lines and the only one disconnected is from the purge valve to the evap can

vacuum lines can cause a cel but i dont think the canister would

Disconnect the IACV when the car is warm and see what it does. If it idles steady it's the IACV, if not, you could have swithced the IACV plug with another one.

i switched the plug..theres 2 plug that fit im guessing one is to the iacv and the other is for the thing that goes under the stock intake manifold i forgot the name...im gonna test and see if that fixed it 2morrow
