you dont have to do anything to it for a auto-manual swap except rewire so your reverse lights work...ive hade 2 a-m EGs and havent had any problems

Yeah, if going from auto y7 to auto y7 no problem, since both use the 3-wire TB IACV. Just either snip the automatic crap (shift solenoids etc) or tuck it away. 
If you go with a D16Y8 there will be some changes. I'm using a D16Y8 automatic harness on a D16Y7 manual, woot.
