Ok, well i just swapped a jdm b18c into my daily ek and got everything plugged in and ready to start. as i crank it, it seems like the starter isn't turning the flywheel but it is.. sounds as if the engine has no compression. it has spark, has fuel, and almost drenching the plugs when i pull it out. tried cranking it when plugs are out and fuel seems to squirt out a little bit.. so as i crank the motor, it seems like its spinning freely without compression... is this a mechanical issue with the swap? or something with the distributor or starter not turning fast enough.. i dunno, help?
Compression is mechanical, it has nothing to do with the distributor or how fast the starter turns.
I would do a compression test, I am surprised it was not done before even thinking about installing the engine. 94

If the motor has good compression I would test the distributor, my swap sat for about 6 months and once I installed it in my eg it would crank but not start, and had no spark. The modular in the distributor was junk. Try the compression test first. You sure its getting spark?
compression numbers on fuel washed cylinders from a motor that hasnt ran in at least 6 months could be deceiving results. Suggestion get a good hot battery , fresh set of plugs, cap full of oil down each spark plug hole before the new plugs, get in,hold the throttle wide open and spin it until it starts. Good luck.
