What's up guys,
So the title states it all, I lowered my AP1 on Tein springs. I know everything is secured tightly. I went for a spin and when I get on it in first or any gear vibration starts in the rear but if I let off, it goes away! Any suggestions on what it could be? Any help would be great.
Cheers,
Ralph!

so gtfo do some research and come back when u decide to stop missleading pple.
oh and this is to the op sorry i cant help you i have never had experience with vibration coming from the rear the both times i took apart my suspension first springs then coilovers. I would advise you to search on s2ki.com that site has decent info but filter what you read cause there is alot of bs kinda like what the kid told you to do earlier

axle spacers. dont listen to black s2k, he obviously doesn't know that the CV vibrations happen on a car-by-car basis. some cars need them, some cars dont.
I had the same experience in my S2,and replaced the axle and it went away, but i am lowered 2.0F & 2.5R,but im gonna put the spacers on anyways too.
Ya I am lowered about 3in all the way around and I have driven it this way for about 12k miles and I am just now starting to get vibrations. I also have 110,000 on my car and the axles are oem. I personally think that the axle spacers are BS. If anyone can correct me I would be happy to hear axactly how they would fix the problem I am curious.

when you lower our cars an extreme amount, the axle changes positions from the hub to the diff...the point of axle spacers are to push the axles out more so they're not stretched, it's a good idea...but with that said, i got a set of motorklasse axle spacers for free when i bought my coilovers, but i didnt put them on...i might eventually

i changed out my swifts and put my bilsteins on and the same vibration came back... im going for my alignment this week and im gonna bet that the vibration will be gone... ill reply back on thursday...

alignment will not cause a vibration. never has and never will. the only way it could cause a vibration is if your alignemtn angles made your tires wear whcih would create an unbalnced rim/tire combo. but then again your vibration is in the tire/wheel combo.
the problem...unbalnced tire..
the cause would be the alignment..
the fix would be tire/rim balancing and or new tires with alignemnt so it wont happen again
the only angle that "may" cause a shimmy would be negative caster. and if your honda is runnign with negative caster you have bigger problems.
back to the OP.. jack up your rear end on your axle to keep the angle as close to resting state as possible and put the car in gear. see if your axles are binding. check your lugnuts for looseness.

lol got to love the info out there.
There are a few good points in this thread.
1- If it didnt make the noise/vibration before you lowered it double check all your points you touched when lowering.
2- Axle spacers are GOOD if the original AXLE CUP is bad. Meaning the extra 7mm-10mm of movement may place the bearing of the axle in a newr area this not aloowing for any vibration. same thing as swapping the axle cups from 1 side to the other. just putting the resting area of the bearing in a different spot. Axel spacers are easier to put in than swapping cups.
3-Check your tires and tire pressure for un-even wear or low tire pressure.
4-Diff mounts make sure 1 isnt leaking. they are oil-shock filled so you will see a little oil running out.
Check those.

Yea your inner cv joints might be pitted. Axle spacers or swapping the joints (left to right, right to left) should fix the problem.
I was on espelirs which is about a 1.5" drop and after a 13hr road trip my rear end began vibrating, especially under acceleration. Swapped the inner joints and vibration was gone. Im now slammed on coilovers and the vibrations are beginning to come back. Time for axle spacers.
Just get the axle spacers. If doesn't fix the problem, then think of it as a preventative maintenance.

Guys thanks for all the info and input... I bought new axles from my budddy at Honda but they don't come in for a while so in the meantime I'm going to swap the CV cups! If this works then I'll pass on the axles! With that said I want to thank you guys again and I'll post some pictures later!
Peace!
Peace!
