Default F20 manifold advice needed

Hey guys, I'm new on this forum, as other forums have *so far* not been able to answer my question decisively!

I have a UK 2.0i 4th gen prelude (BB3), engine code F20A4.

I am looking for some nice easy ways to improve performance, and I have heard that the H23 exhaust manifold (and maybe intake manifold) will bolt straight on to the F20 engine, and give some decent gains in performance without any problems.

However, so far I have been unable to confirm this. No-one on a couple of UK prelude forums seems to know one way or another! The original thread I found that suggests this will work, was on this site. However, no-one has come back on that thread with a report on wether it was successfull or not.

Plus, I'd have thought that if this worked, more people would know about it!!

Anyway, thought id try asking here, and see if anyone could help me

Thanks!

Yep, H23 exhaust and intake manifold fit and will give you some more hp as they let your engine breathe better. It's quite common mod in this engine.

So strange that theres no info out there on it then! Sure it works on the F20, and not just on the F22?

It works on F20 and F22. It's the same head. Many people on prelude club in Poland have this modification in their cars.

Thankyou

Could you possibly list the parts I would need to complete the job? Obviusly I would need a H23 intake/exhaust manifold, but what else from a H23 would I need? Or would my F20 parts all fit still?

you need a h23 throttle body as it's bigger than F20 and something to drive intake butterflies (shiftlight or so). The electric harness should be modified a bit to make fit the new manfold.

What would I need for the exhaust manifold? As that would be my first job. Would I need an entire new exhaust? Or just downpipe? I dont know what the difference in the studs/sizing is

Would this be all I need? Or would I need a new centre pipe and backbox too?
Not sure how good these ebay ones are...but no-one seems to be selling a standard h23 manifold

You'll probably need some minor adjustments made to connect the exhaust manifold to the rest of the exhaust like rewelding flange or so. But this one you chose could be direct fit. It's hard to tell now. A standard H23 manifold is crappy anyway. This one looks better.

looks better yeh, but its an ebay job, so the welds and stuff will be rubbish. I was just using it as an example.

I figured the standard H23 manifold would be cheap to get from a scrappy, and give better performance than my F20. A good stainless system would be expensive, considering I dont even know for sure if it will work for me.
