i have a d1616 crank and i was wondering if it will fit into my d15b7 block. i wanna raise the compression of the d15. and if it does fit what rods do i use. im useing p2e pistons from a y7 bock.

 

won't work - D16 cranks have 55mm main journals - D15B7 has 45mm main journals

 

ok thanks.. ill just use the stock crank then. my d16 block has too many stress cracks on the inside of the block to rebuild

 

Stress cracks? Are you sure its not casting flash?

 

well on the inside of the block were the bottom of the cylender walls are there is a bunch of small cracks in the block they look to be cracks anyways.. every other block that i have worked with ive never seen this untill this one. it has like 170k on it and 2 of the rod barrings were laying in the oil pan in little peices and were jammed into the oil pickup and pump itself. the crank main and rod journals are all scratched with the one with the destroyed barring being the worst.. i dont think its worth rebuilding
