Default 120 compression

ok i went to look over a car that my buddy was gonna buy it was a 95 eg coupe with a b16a gsr trans...i got there and checked all four corners....and good....he then started the motor and it was reving from 800 to like 2000 and he tells me its because of the s2 cams and i said no its because it has no coolant...so i checked and i was right.... i then asked how the comp. was when he last checked and he said 120 all the way across...i have an older b16a and mine is at 185 all the way across.... after hearing this i left.... then he said all motors are diff which is true but damn i dont belive it should be that bad? right.....oh yea this guy is supposed to be a mechanic

Default Re: 120 compression

Sounds low to me. My LS when I last checked it a couple months ago was between 185 and 190 across the board. My old D16Z6 with over 200k miles was in the 160s.

The fact he was a liar would have been enough for me to leave right there and tell him to screw himself.

You walking away I think was a good call.
