Any Advice before I change my brakes?
My brakes are starting to squeak. I think they need replaced now.
I was planning on replacing the rotors and pads. Any advice before I start this process? I was reading I should get a impact screwdriver.
I was planning on going to Autozone and getting whatever rotors and pads they have. This is not my primary car. It only drives me to work and back, so performance isn't an issue.
Thanks
Oh yeah.. Its a 97 GSR

Here's a good tutorial for ya.
The impact screw driver suggestion is for the set screws for the rotors. They often get sezed in there and the heads strip out. They really aren't necessary, so if they get stripped out, you can always just drill out the head. Start with a small-ish drill bit and keep going bigger until the head of the screw spins loose. You don't need to drill deep, only maybe 1/4" or so

best way i have found for seized set screws is to take a metal punch with a sharp tip and put a hole near the edge of the screw. place the punch in the hole and tap it around with a hammer to get the screw out. This is a lot simpler and cheaper way of doing it.
Takes a little practice but the second one will go a lot easier.
