while the car is running there is a rattling noise coming from/around the intake mani. when i rev up the noise gets louder. its not a knocking sound it sounds like there is some trash in it. it actually sounds like there is shards of broken glass/metal in there. any input would be appriciated.

 

rattle or ping? sound liek BB's in a can? what eceu are you runnign?

 

yea BBs in a can is a very good example!!! he says its the one thats for that motor. (its a friends car)

 

more ping noise like there is a piece of metal broken in the fuel injector

 

check your plugs for detonation

 

well the plugs were changed about 2 weeks ago...what should we look for when checking the plugs for det.

 

normally its white. but check your ignition timing, you might either need to retard it a little or use higher octane gas. you might have really shitty gas in there. so you can either try and throw an octane booster in there or retard timing.
