we all know that the club can be by-passed anyone have any hard proof the autolock has weaknesses?
I've heard rumors that people can bend\cut them or remove the clutch\brake pedal. I don't see how it's possible really, it would take time to do all that and time is a thieves worst enemy. Most thieves will see it and be like "**** it, I'll grab the next teg I see." But if they really want it they will get it, even if they have to get a tow truck. It works good as a deterent as well as a security device. I use one on my teg for now, I'm getting an alarm installed soon to be used along with it, maybe even the complete lojack system which includes a lojack install (no monthly fee
) and a full alarm system, it goes for like 800 or so.

i have heard a few HT members say that autolock has been bypassedand that you should use TWO one for the clutch, the other for the brake pedal. well i have an autolock along with an alarm hopefully that prevents most theives...
as w/ any anti-theft/security device theres probably always a way to bypass it somehow... just think a few years back when a lot of people thought the club was such a great idea... I know I bought one in 1994 or so.... I think the autolock serves as a nice layer as part of a security system... the more things you have (alarm, club, autolock, kill switches, pager, etc) the harder your car is to steal so the autolock is probably a nice additional layer of security.. of course if a pro theif wants your car he is going to get it one way or another.. either studying on a strategy/plan of attack for your car or just getting a tow truck and towing it...
since we're all so curious maybe we should all chip in 50 cents or $1 to a trusted member or moderator of this site.. it shouldn't be hard to get 59 members to chip in $1 and then for a trusted member or moderator to test it out/break it quickly AND POST PICS so we can see the test results... $1 is a small price to pay to see if something works or not... all it takes is 59 people to chip in $1 to buy an autoloc pro to test...
I've thought of a way to break the autolock.. I wonder how strong the brake pedal really is.. if its really strong I've thought of a way to break the autolock w/ something everyone has.... I'm sure theres ways you can mess w/ the lock or break/pull it out also which is a 2nd method I've thought of.. I'm not sure I should post these though... probably not a good idea to give theives ideas...

it would be nice to hear from people who have had their autolocks bypassed... not "i heard" stories. i DO think it can be bypassed... but we all wanna hear it from someone who has had it happen to them. i wouldnt want it to happen to me either.

It would be great if we could lug around a BOOT and strap that on the car as anti-theft.... think about it they will have a real hard time even towing it then!!!!
sry its late and thought I'd add humor into this post.... flame me if it was un-necessary.

the keys are NOT universal but I already know of at least TWO ways to bypass it.. it is not that hard but I'm sure I'd get a lot of animosity and bs if I posted those two methods so I won't unless a lot of you want me to or think its OK to post the methods.... don't want to give thieves ideas but I have a feeling they already know...

I had my civic stolen in jan 2001. It had a jrsc 99 gsr motor and lots of other mods. I had the autolock, club, alarm.
I think it was towed.

tell us how it is bypassed so maybe we can prevent it.
of course if a thief really wants it he can get it (jeebus its been beaten to death)
as for the towing, i put a club between the ebrake and shifter (auto). i assume it will be harder for them to move it onto the bed/pull. any opinions?

they have winches on their tow truck that will pull a couple thousand lbs once they tow it onto a flatbed its gone... i don't think its going to make much of a difference... plus it doesn't take that long (its like what 1 philips screw maybe 2?) to remove the shifter "T" handle then take out the club from your shifter/e-brake... and theres also the wheel dollies or whatever those things are called...
There is a tool that can break the autolock in seconds or minutes depending on how much space you have down there...
Shift locks are pretty good if you can install them, but bottom line, if they use a flatbed, it'll be toast!!
I would suggest you to get some sort of paging alarm along with the autolock, so even if they attempt to toll it away, it would sound off instantly upon any impact on your remote alarm, then you can run to your car and beat the sh*t out of them...
of course with whatever sh*t u got.

how the hell does a professional thief become a pro thief...is there a damn school or something? I have no idea how to steal a car, breaking in doesnt seem like an issue but hotwiring and alarms seems pretty tough. These things are pretty technical so how do these people learn

why cant i ask? Its not like im gonna go out and start stealing cars, I'm just curious how one becomes a "professional car thief" i realize there are people out there that are really good at this, not just some thug with a screwdriver and a ****** bar. owell

1. sleazes posing as valets...hey you just gave them the keys and a few bucks too...
2.most 'shaved' door cars ( the vast majority have an outside switch circuit...but no alarm system.."i don't need one..the car ain't got no door handle...kinda throws em (thieves) off the game"...owner of a car )
3. Taken from garages and driveways..while you were at home....
4. removing bulbs and shorting out circuits...not really an issue any more...but some 'housebrand' alarms still dont come with the light circuit fused. You think 18yrs old Jimmy is gonna care...he is only getting $15.00 per car with the basic alarm plus keyless entry added.
Just adding my 0.02. All things considered the more layers or roadblocks you have in place...the better off your car is. It may not stop the guy with a 'shopping list' ( well maybe it will...there are many cars without security systems to choose from)...but it should deter the ***** and giggles crowd.

I dunno guys, I see it this way; If I install a doomsday type siren, ones that can be heard for 5 blocks, with a backup fullsized battery, in an isolated, weldedup canister. Triggered by my alarm, motion of the wheels, and any tampering of the box its self. Then Im prety sure that no one will wanna be within 2 blocks of that thing when it goes off. Everyone on the block will look outside their window, and I guarantee that the thieves will scramble. Btw, the siren will only go off in critical situations, not just regular shock. Meaning, wheels moving, and doors opening. Oh, and with all this autoloc stuff, its crap. You know those lock clippers ? Well Ive seen a version with diamond cutters, and a handle thats 3 feet long, rigged with a slow pulley type mechanism. That thing can eat connecting rods for breakfast. Enough said. And on another note, Ive hear of people not using the clutch at all to drive away a stolen car. Simply jamming it in first before starting the car, and driving that way to safety.

if a psycho with a BFG comes to my door and demands i give up my innocence, im not gonna complain about the futility of my security, im gonna happily take the barrel
