if i bore out where the exhaust and intake manifolds come together with my engine will it increase p
i was told i should bore out the holes to increase power.. will this work? if so how much bigger should i make them? will it affect anything badly?

i have the DX engine..

i have the DX engine..
possible p&p but its quite a bit more extensive than that and i would not attemt it yourself unless your a machinist or no exactly what your doing...
on a DX engine, if you still have a DPFI intake manifold, a p&p is going to produce minimal results. if you want bang for the buck do an MPFI swap first.
There's already a bunch of posts on here about this, but here it goes:
you'll need the following from a 88-91 civic or crx si or ex model:
Intake manifold
Throtle body
Injectors
Injector resistor box
ECU
Distributor
Engine wiring harness (to steal the plugs off of for the dizzy, injectors, and resistor box)
I got all of my parts off of Ebay for about $300.00, If you're lucky, you can find someone local that blew his engine and is swapping in a b-series.
Bolt on the intake mani and distributor (you'll need a new manifold gasket) and use the following guide to re-wire the car to use these parts:

If you're patient and take your time it's easy to do, and can be done in a weekend (some people can do it in a day, I took about a week because i was unfortunate and had some broken parts) If you have a friend with an Si, have him hang around so you can look at his car to see how the vacum lines are routed.
This is a very worth while mod to our cars because the DX / Std throtle bodys are so restrictive that they create a bottleneck and things like I/H/E and p&p head work make little to no Improvement to the car. After an MPFI swap, your car will feel like it has a whole new motor and will respond much better to other mods. Plus this swap is required for us to do any kind of engine swap anyway, so you might as well do it first to make future swaps go smoother.
