im new to Bseries and was wondering what a good setup would be. im running a jdm b16a 1st gen. plan on doing CTR pistons, maybe oversized, id like to get maybe 11.5:1. my plans are going to be a daily driven N/A track car. i dont want anything to ridiculous. something that is reliable and can be take out and get down.

this is all going in an EF hatch, which i drive everyday and have the suspension set up for time attacks n mountain roads

i already have pans for the bottom end. spoon oil pump, either golden eagle stock or lightweight crank, acl bearings. arp head studs n rod bolts, girdle, block guard..

Now for the headwork im having some trouble deciding what i wanna do. my friend gave me a set of 98 gsr cams because the obd0 b16 cams are garbage. i wanna do dual valve springs and titanium retainers, titanium valves, port n polish, yadda yadda yadda. Anyways.. the thing im worried about is will the gsr cams give me anymore power and be sufficient enough or should i look into getting aftermarket? and if so what brands would be good for the job? iv looked into skunk2, blox, and crane. im thinking something maybe the same and/ or better than itr/ ctr cams.

sorry for the scatterness of this, just trying to figure out things as they come along.. any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dont know how much my advice will help you out but if your gonna have a fully built head, you may as well put aftermarket cams. Have a friend with JUN cams...ill find out exactly which ones. But I have heard the best from them so far. Skunks arent bad either know a few people with those. If it were me and money wasnt an option...TODA all the way.

 

yea iv seen those too.. idk.. what would be good combinations of head stuff that work well with each other? and are blox cams any count?
