Default Camber/Tire Wear and drop concerns..

got a 93 civic coupe

i am dropping it soon
got a few questions
lets start with...
i want a sweet camber, yeah dont beak me thats what i want
something like the pics here..nothing more than that
1.does this wear out your tire faster? it looks like it would but then why would people do it?

2. do i need COILOVERS for this? I was thinking going with a skunk2 coilover SLEEVE with toxico shocks and struts

3. i also would need a camber kit too?

thanks guys just explain some things here

As for your tire wear question, camber isn't really your concern,it's the toe angle that wears out tires.Sure, eventually having camber like those cars will wear tires more rapidly than if your alignment were within spec range, but nowhere near as fast as if your toe angle were out of whack. If your toe angle were severe enough(and a severe angle really isn't that much),I'm pretty sure that within 2-3 months of daily driving, you would need new tires.

It's happened to me and I will never neglect having a proper alignment again. It's cheaper than having to buy new tires.

ok... camber will not wear your tires... toe will... make sure you get an alignment everytime you raise or lower your ride hieght. the pics you posted only have that much camber because the wheel i so wide they needed it to be able to fit the wheel and make it tuck... are you going to be running a wide wheel with low offset? or are you just in for the fad/look?

and you will need a full coilover or GC and Konis(preffered) with very stiff rates to ride that low... and a camber kit in the rear.... most people just roll there fenders in the front.

To answer your question, the only reason people run that much negative camber, is so they can run those low offset wheels shown in the pictures. Without the additional camber, the tire would completely destroy the fender. That is also why they run tires that are too narrow for the rim.

And typcially people that run 5k dollar rims on a 20k dollar Civic, don't mind replacing $100 tires every 5k miles. Camber like that certainly won't help your tire life or make the car handle well...
