HELP!!!!!! with d17a1 02 civic
I just changed the timing belt on my moms 2002 honda civic lx.When i crank the car it runs and dies out.I re checked the timing Put the pistons at TDC and the came gear was at up.So now im clueless and my mom needs her car done.PLease help. When i un plug the Crank position sensor it runs but with a check engine light when i plug it back in it will run and die back out .Anyone ever has this problem?
just for reference...
dont go by the word "up" on the cam gear. there are two lines at 3 oclock position and 9 oclock position that must be in line with the valve cover to cylinder head. check this.
does the car have a code with crank sensor plugged in and you trying to start it? if so what is the code?
check both cam and crank sensors for cracks or misaligned.
double read this and see if you missed any steps.. http://www.civicforums.com/forums/36...t-diy-2-a.html this was in the sticky posts
for some reason he says not to disconnect the crank sensor while doing the timing belt. i wonder if you then have to clear the computer if you do disconnect it.
