Removing carpet in Civic Coupe
Hey guys,
I recently drove through some flood water, and a bit got inside my car. Right now the only wet part is the floor on the drivers side. I keep putting a towel on it but it keeps getting wet again, so the only thing I can assume is that it is super wet below the carpet.
I was wondering if you could please tell me how to properly remove the carpet and the steps to? A link would suffice.
Thanks for much needed help, my car smells.

1. remove all seats (4 14mm bolts on front + srs plug // 2 10mm bolts in back) you might be able to get away without removing the rear if you can unhook the carpet from the bolt...
take care to not have the key in ignition at any point after removing seats to avoid SRS light
2. remove center console and cut part that goes under dash... i just cut mine
3. remove carpet (carpet will be heavy depending on how much water got in)and wring out and dry in sun... (after drying i'd recommend going over it with a carpet cleaner to remove smell)
4. dry out interior and let it sit in the sun to get all the moisture out.
I found that using a chamois towel to soak up the water made it a lot faster.
good luck...

Here is my DIY site with photos and drawings for carpet removal and replacement: https://sites.google.com/site/hondal...et-replacement .

What 00falcon posed but start by disconnecting the batt. neg. (-) cable
Also easier just to remove the rear seat, also kick and rocker/sill panels will have to be removed. 94

Lioness bumped the thread stating that there was a DIY coming.
