Default mpfi ef problem....click it smartguy

ok i have a 90 dx w a b16a ran great parked it overnight got back in , in the morning and its only running on 3 cylinders....compression is fine, the dizzy is fine the plugs and wires are fine and the injectors are yet again fine...i did not do the swap....but evidently it has been re-wired for mpfi........if i leave the #1 injector plug in (#1 cyl...not working) and i hit the gas i get an extremely large plume of white and blue smoke..... i then checked the plugs for the injector with a multimeter and the number one cyl jumped all the way to way to 15 volts and the #2,3,4 only reached 4 at the most....so did and or can the resistor box go bad if not what the hell?..... oh yea i could get the other injector plugs to go that high by removing the ground prong from the electrified plug and putting it on the head itself.....ask questions if need be...i prolly have them except for this one lol

really appreciate it

sounds like maybe that one injector is not being ran through the resistor box. if it is going through it then perhaps the box itself has gone bad. i've never seen or heard of them going bad though. use a multimeter to check the voltage in the 4 wires going to each injector from the res. box. i would also check the ground wire on that 1st injector and make sure its going all the way back to the right spot at the ecu, and its not being grounded out on anything else along the way.

Ground prong?
One wire on the injector goes straight to the ECU (IIRC that's the '-' wire) and the other goes to the resistor box ('+' wires).

Do you get the same problem if you swap injectors?
Maybe the injector is dead.

more likely that the wiring is bad, but I would still swap injectors first.
