Thoughts on staggered wheel on a 4th gen?!?**PICTUES**
Hey,
I'd like to get thoughts on staggered wheels on a 4th gen. This is purely for looks,....I know the car is Front wheel drive and you see that on rear wheel drive cars. But the 4th gen having that nice big wide ***, I think staggered would look good.
Let me know your thought or show me your pics.
BTW How wide of a wheel you guys think I can fit on the rear of a 4th Gen Prelude????

On looks alone, I think it would look pretty good. But, bigger wheels on the back of a FWD is a crime against humanity to any car guy or gearhead and that would quickly stop me from thinking about it
staggered doesn't only refer to width. the rears could just have a lower offset in the rear to have a fatter lip and it's still staggered.
I just fitted some 17x9.5 +38 in the rear and 17x8.5 +30 in the front Gram light 57c. I will post pics soon! Its not for every one but I like it! Its not for performance, its for looks!
Here are the pics....BTW I got those wheels for 290$, I sandblasted them and then sprayed them hot pink! Also I like the stretch look....all 4 are 215/45/17

Go on tirerack and you can find out what the tire manufacturer says the max wheel width for a given tire size should be. You're probably an inch over, just with the fronts.
To each their own, of course, but vinuneuro is right. There might be some safety concerns when stretching a tire that far. I think staggering does fill out the rear rather well, but chose not to consider it for my own car. Maybe stagger with a 7.5 inch rim with a different offset, and you might still have room for a 215 tire.
Thx for the comments guys.....I know that tire stretching is not a common practice here on Honda-tech or by Honda owners but go look at Drifters, VIP style, V-dubs...all of them have been stretching for a long time and way more extreme. I personnaly like the style and it does not concern me has far as safety goes since the front are less stretched and most of the side load applyed to a tire on those car is there. She has another set up for weekend autocross...not stretched!!!

that's not even an aggressive stretch on the lude. Perfectly fine to run stretched tire, just like with any tire you have to be watchful of tire pressure.
All these people complaining of putting staggered wheels up front and of stretched tire need to vacate because this isnt about performance--purely stance and show!
welcome to stretch town :]

Nice finally someone who gets it!!!
Yes it would be nicer lower but this is a car for my GF and its daly driven. On top of that the roads where I live are really shitty so it unfortunately wont be any lower!!!
