Default My 94 civic Leak...Look inside if your out of options

OK so about a week or so ago after a heavy rain storm i get in my car to notice my floor mats are soaked. Lift it up and the there is a pool on my driver's side floor going from the pedals to the back seat. So i pulled the carpet the next chance i had so it can dry out and i can figure out the leak. So i started with the drain plugs for the sunroof, pulled the healdliner down and blew air into it.

Test it out by pour water on the roof, look inside no water...Do it again and i see a trickle...CRAP...so this time i pour water right on the rain tray...And its flowing pretty good on the inside (driver's side corner of the car where the firewall comes to 90 degree corner). So i think its the seal on the windshield since its all original glass. SO i go to the glass shop (luckily the guy there is a really cool guy) and he tells me its more than likely not it and to take the rain tray out and check in there. SO i do that and nothing seems out of the ordinary, so i take the fender off, i look at and everything seems fine. And i look closer than it hits me, im looking at the inside of my car!! Turns out the gromet for the hood cable came completely off and water just traveled right in through there. Felt like an *** at first but than relieved that i figured it out.

Here is where it is...its right next to the drain plug.

Hey maybe your hood cable came out cause someone was trying to pop your hood open by yanking on the cable, keep your eyes open.

Yea...I ended up pouring 2 bucket of water in that area just to test it out and absolutely no water entered the car...With that grommet out it goes right into the car and you can see the pedal assembly
