Default Couple build questions

im in the process of collecting parts for a b18 da build. Currently the car is a 91 da with 211,xxx miles on the car. Compression is still even and good across the board and leak down is just under or right at 10 percent last time i did it. ya the motor is old but doesnt burn oil or burn coolant. sittin around the house i have some crower 403's with the full valve train, dc 421 header and str cam gears. on the car i have an exhaust and intake (came with the car). useless info yes i know but want to get that stuff out of the way.

I know most of you will say just get a new block and build. i am planning to but cant fully afford it right now. so after countless hours of searching i decided to make a post. I want to bump compression up on the motor without using pistons(cant afford the bottom end build at this time.) What are your guys opinions of running a dhracing 1 layer or just running the middle layer of a stock pr4 hg? I would be going with arps if i do go this route. the only milling of the head that will be done is if it needs surfaced. should i just steer clear of going that route and swapping in the cams valve train and gears and doing a tune; monitor the vitals of the engine until i can do a full build?

opinions welcome!
