upgrade camshaft?

Default upgrade camshaft?

hey guys i'm new to this page and i don't really know how this works but here it goes. i have a 98 civic with single cam and i got an extra y8 head but i got it ported out and i was wondering what kind of cam i should get? i just don't want it to have rough of an idle. oh i have the usual i/h/e in my car

You are leaving out way to much information for anyone to be able to help you. First, you say that you don't want too rough of an idle, is this going into your daily driver? Secondly, you just mention a head, what about the bottom end - are you just going to swap the heads and put this on your stock bottom end or do you have plans to build one up? Block, piston selection, target compression ratio, etc. Much more information is needed on your part to further help you in answering your question.

Yeah, for the most part a simple camshaft choice is not as simple as it seems.

We can only help if we have as many details as you can provide. Also, we need to know your intentions...e.g. more power can mean many many many different things: race car, street driver, drag racer, drift car
