Default subwoofer sound

After driving about 10 minutes today with my system on the normal volume I cruise at, my 12" mtx sub on the left (there is 2) started to make a cracking noise when the bass would hit. It is blown. I checked the speaker and there is no cracks or puncture marks

Just to clarify Tekens statement. If the sub is indead blown there will be almost no resistance in the speaker. If it it not blown it should be somewhere around that the voicecoil is. Probably 4ohm or so.

I forgot to mention that the sub plays fine when at a lower level but after about 2 minutes with the volume turned up the cracking noise comes again. Thought this would help with any other responses
