Which CV Axles to buy / Potential OEM Rebuild
Hey Guys,
I would like to hear your advice and opinions about which CV axles you have tried and liked? I have a 1996 swapped with a JDM B18C5 (lsd) with bolt-ons and a tune. I have heard nothing but bad things about buying new aftermarket axles unless they are beefyer then stock. I am located in Toronto, Canada and it seems like so many of the parts stores I have called are trying to rip me off. I have been quoted around $400 U.S. for Hasport CV's, as well as $340 U.S. plus shipping from the Driveline shop for their level 0 Axles. The driveline shop came highly recommended from a friend. I have also been able to find a few places locally that will rebuild my axles with all OEM parts, they have told me my OEM axles are good to about 250 ft-lbs at the wheels. I am looking into boosting within the next few months but I am going to change my axles first due to the fact that the boots on mine are pretty worn but not yet leaking grease. The rebuild shop wanted about $175 U.S. to rebuild my axles. Are there any other manufacturers and/or parts stores that you guys would recommend I try before ordering my CV's.
I appreciate the help because it would be my worst nightmare to crack and axle and potentially damage other components.

if ur gonna be boosting or makin alot of hp/tq in the future than aftermarket axles will be a good idea but if ur motor is stock and just lookin to replace u should just rebuild them IF it is just the boots...our dealership mainly just install new boots and grease in them if its just the boots that are ripped
