I have been told to use a catalyst primer. I went looking for this primer and only thing i found was the Nason Dupont primer. And there is two part numbers there is the primer and the catalyst. Do i get both and mix them together or what? And i was also told that i would need a harder for the catalyst primer. Has anyone use this type of primer and can you tell me what i need to get?

 

dupont makes nason. one part is the primer the other is the catalyst or hardner. read the instructions on there, it helps. i've used it and it works fine. make sure you mix them to the right specifications. make sure to use self-etching primer on any bare metal that is showing before surface priming.

 

Ok thats what i need to know. I didnt know that the catalyst was the hardner. What if there is just a small spot of metal show like 3 inch dia. do i still need to use etching primer.

 

yes, etch primer is recommened on any bare metal. just get etch primer in a can, it'll work fine.
