Question!!
Hey this probably isn't the right place to post this up but I've been wanting to trade in my car for something better (prolly and SI) but there is a question that I need to ask or what you would do in this situation. I accidentally hit my own fence...yes yes stupid. But the funny thing is that I hit it twice and the second time it owned me. Well I now have a cut/slash on the rear bumper and a dent on the trunk. I tried fixing it, but that only made things worst. Now it looks hideous. Here are some pictures. Now my question is should I go and get it fixed, then trade it in. Or should I just trade it in with the damage on their already, but I'm afraid my trade in is going to be lowered. So what should I do in this situation.
I traded in my wifes 05 CRV for my Si and it had a busted rear bumper....they still gave me blue book value for it. not sure if it would be the same for you but you go can see what they might say.
I do not know af any new car dealerships that repair the cars that they have for re-sale, the send them to an auction. Fix it before you trade it.
I had a 03 civic with a dent in the fender, to trade for a new 06 civic.
The 1st dealer subtracted $700.00 from the value of my trade-in, and wanted me to pay full retail for the new 06.
The 2nd dealer subtracted $250.00 and said that paintless dent removal would fix the dent. Again, full retail price, was expected for the new 06.
I paid $225.00 for the paintless dent repair and went to a 3rd dealer. I got my best deal with the fender repaired.

I would asked what the trade-in Value is, "as is" first. You can buy a new Bumper from Honda (on Line) for about $225 dollars. However, I believe it is not painted. To get it painted it will probably cost another few hundred bucks since you can just take it in as a single piece (off the car, saves prep time). Once it is painted, replace it on the car yourself, it is really not that difficult to do. As for the trunk, that "looks" pretty minor so I would just blow that off.
If the dealer tries to rip you for a couple thousand because of the damage, get it fixed would be my suggestion.
First and for most, make your deal on the new car first. They do not need to know you are doing a trade in.
Good luck
