My regular key is worn on my 97 to the point it no longer works. My valet key works fine still, but I need a regular key. If I bring my car to an Acura dealer, can they make a key from the vin number like they can with some newer cars?

 

you dont have to bring the whole car but you can, you just bring the vin # and they will make one for you. i did that to my 94 integra.

 

but make sure you bring your registration with you

 

or what i did take the rear trunk key lock out and take it to them with the title hand them 5 bucks and your off

 

You don't need to bring a lock. If your car has original locks from the dealership then all you have to do is have the VIN, title, and registration. It costs more than $5 now, my brother payed $15 for the first one he got cut.
