World Challenge/Grand Am Koni/Rolex GT @ NJMP May 1st-3rd?
Sup guys, just curious if anybody was going to the races at New Jersey Motorsports Park this weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing the Realtime Acuras and the Compass 360 Civics in person. I'll be there all day friday and saturday (its only an hour from my town) and I was curious if anybody else was going to be out and about. Its only $10 bucks for friday and $22 for saturday.
Random request: I'm looking for pics of the GT cars wings and mounting designs. If you (or anyone else going) could snap a few and post them, that would be awesome
Looking specifically for how they are mounted to the body.

Adam, I might have a couple of pictures from Sebring, if I do I'll send them to you.
There will be several poeple coming from the Lehigh Valley/Landsdale area. Make sure you check out the Olson Technologies/Synapse Dodge SRT driven by Matt Lang. He will be competing in the WC Touring Car class...GO MATT.

It was a tough weekend for us but we will sort this car out and be back for the Glenn and mid-Ohio. Erik thanks for the support!
man, i wish i could hve come down to show some support. but getting my racecar working again is taking its toll on me.
Yea it looked tough out there. I got some pictures of the SRT 4's quick trip off course during the race. Good luck at the next stop though looked like your team was working hard.
22 bucks?! Its costs 50 dollars to go see it at lime rock. Lime rock is a great course to be at but... I didnt go last year because it was too expensive, now I see this. Thumbs down imo.

I would love to see the pic
Yeah the Synapse Motorsport crew is the best they worked thier ***'s off! It's hard to take over someone elses's program and expect it to go smooth and unfurntunitly it didnt but we have a good driver and even better crew!
A single day costs $25.00 at lime rock for this race. For example May 22-25, the 25th is $25.00.

yeah that off was actually alot of fun I was already out of contention at that point from having to pit twice. I was really trying to test the level of grip I had since I had limited time on track the whole weekend.

Why the switch to an SRT-4?
Those things had some pretty serious $$$, from private people and from the factory, and they NEVER ever really did much
It was hilarious to watch the straight line speed of the new STI that thing is ridiculous.
We came, we saw our race sucked, which was a real bummer because we won there last year in the Daytona Prototypes oh well off to Laguna
Yeah no offense to the guys running the program but it seems like beating a dead horse at this point.

And yes the SWC TC 'new rules' to 'reduce cost' don't really seem to make sense..
Lets add weight to the cars to slow them down to 'reduce' costs. And lets add restrictors to drop the HP and TQ at the wheels to 'reduce' costs...
I have a ton of pics from the Speed WC touring car race and the Koni race I will post up in this thread once I get them off my camera probably wednesday because I turn 21 at midnight and will be hammered/hungover for quite sometime.
so the dodge is it for now.
It is an exercise in a "false economy".
Really the cost of the car is small in comparision to the cost of running. Some one posted on the WC forum that it would be very hard to spend less then $8,000 a race.
The car costs quickly become "small".
The price is/was right for a reason...

The dodge isnt a terrible car and I am sure that with a little help from SCCA regarding the weight distribution we can become much more competative on a track that I am familiar with.
A pro driver in the car could definitly get a top 10.
I thought about this a good bit over the night. And never got my head around it.
The $100,000 mark is about what has been tossed around for a RTR TSX, i'd say probably more closer to 120,000 or 125,000.
But what is the point of the "new rules" package if they don't reduce the cost of building/prepping a car.
a break down
30,000 for a lightly used New STI
5,000 for chassis prep/cage
5,000 for safety stuff (seat, leg bolsters, window nets, kill switch, fire system)
6,000 for 2 way MOTON/JRZ and camber plates
8,000 for AEM EMS, AIM data logger, wiring
5,000 for clutch, and diffs.
2,000 for pads and 2 piece front rotor
2,000 for wheels
4,000 for radiator, brake ducts, splitter, and other cooling stuff.
Call it $70,000 for new STI that would be pretty well built for the class. Granted it isn't going to have the BEST OF THE BEST, but it should be a pretty damn good car for a privater.
Maybe i'm missing something though.
