We had a huge ice storm a few months back and my friends hood on his '01 civic got dented up. I've tried helping him look around for an OEM one from some of the links. He isn't looking to hook up his car or anything, but would an aftermarket suffice? He just wants to save some money, and there's a shop around here that sells some. Any input would be great. Thanks

 

An aftermarket hood? If your talking about a non-Honda manufacturer of a steel hood, keep in mind you may have fitment issues.

 

Did you check car-part.com ? (it's in the FAQ's)

There are a number of used OEM hoods in the Northeast. (12307 area)
