TOTAL price?

engine- ~$2500 depending on where you get it...
axles-~$350 or so
mount kit- I don't remember the EXACT price, but it's made by Place Racing...they're the only ones that make one for EF's. ~$500 or so
various odds and ends-(clutch/flywheel etc) is gonna be about another grand or so when you total it all up. You gotta get smaller fans for clearance etc.

Post in the Hybrid Forum....You should be able to get a more definate answer.

You could probably do it for $3500-$4000 if you do everything yourself....if you have a shop do it, i'd figure at least $5k +

BTW, are you sure your 89 is an Si? I wasn't aware that they ever came in auto form...

they do. or they did.
anyhoo, i don't think the swap is worth the money. for the same amount you could:
-get a same motor with less miles (30-40K) i got mine from K. Watanabe for $300.
-a ludespeed turbo kit
-and convert your tranny to manual.

after all that you would probably still have money left over to upgrade some internals and crank that boost. it would be faster than with an H22A in there.
or you could also do a B16A head and VTEC conversion along with lots more upgrades and mods for the same $$. so that's something to think about.

Has anyone SUCESSFULLY done a B16 head conversion on a B20 or B21a block yet? I've heard of it, and I know of a few that have been started, but I haven't heard how they turned out.

I do believe he's talking about a Prelude Si, not an "EF." Simply look at the signature.

Hence the reason for this being in the Prelude forum.....

Yes. In fact Tom Coleman (ludespeed.com) coverts the head, all you do is send a b16a head to him, and he sends it back, check website for price.

I'm still considering it...
