Question: me and friend been debating: CAN U PASS SMOG WITH LOW COMPRESSION PISTONS IN GS-R? Sorry sounds like a noob question but im about to boost my car, but i have that fear of getting pulled over one day by a PIG and getting that Ref tix and having to put the car back to stock. so if i do get the REF tix can i pass smog with low compression pistons.
The setup up i have:
stock gsr head
low compression manley pistons 9:1 with stock sleeve no bore
itr intake manifold
dc headers
2.5 pipe with cat
aem CAI
********TELL ME WHAT U THINK THANKS*********

You should be able to. I can't recall exactly, because it's been so long since my last automotive tech class, but i believe that lower compression yields a more complete burn of the fuel...that may be totally ***-backward though. With the proper emissions garbage in place, you should be able to pass no matter what...the compression isn't that terribly low anyway.
For the record, the lack of emissions laws is one of the few things that ND has going for it. I can drive around all day with my turbo setup in plain sight and no cat to speak of...there isn't a thing the popos can do. I did actually get pulled over and questioned about having a cat...the cop and I looked under my car (not an easy task) and i pointed out my "cat" to him...aka my flex pipe on the downpipe. Then i was on my way
Good luck
