ok i just did a auto to manual tranny swap on my 97 civic its got a d16y7... i put it all in went to start it it just cranked over then fired up it ran really ruough and then died.. so i checked some sensors and tried again this time it started and reved up nicely shut it off and now it wont start it has fuel and power going into the dizzy but no spark at the plugs and the cel does not come on until you start cranking but it kinda flickers and is dim and is not constantly on........ whats my problem someone has too know right ???lol

 

Jump the service connector to see whether you can pull a CEL code.

Is the ground wire on the thermostat housing tight?

Otherwise, have the coil and ICM tested at an auto parts store.

 

i tried jumping that already no codes pulled uh ill check tht ground but dont think there is one there lol i just pulled the whole motor and dont remember that one being there is there anything else it could be other then the coil or icm ?????

 

The crucial ground wire (G101) attached to the thermostat housing provides ground for all three sensors in the distributor. If it's not connected, you won't get spark.

 

nice i went down there at like 11 at night and tightened tht ground i forgot about hahaha and it fired right up i worked on it for like 7 hours changing plugs and sensors to find out it was that simple ground..... thnx
