I have a 99 civic dx that I'm doing a power door conversion on. I've changed the floor harness, both door harnesses, regulators, door actuators. (all from a 99 ex). The problem is my door locks aren't working. I even changed the driver side harness because it has the door lock relay, which I'm not sure the 99 has since mine didn't. Is there any one out there that can help me!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Hey if you have a haynes manual go to page 12-37 and look at the schematic. it is for power doors and locks on 96-00 civic. There is a part called the power door lock control unit. Do you have that. If you do my next question will be(as dumb as it is) did you ground out the door lock actuators? The best way to do anything electrical is with a schematic or if you have a buddy who will let you take of his door panel(which should be no big deal. If he gets mad by him a hot dog or burrito IDK) but this way you can make sure everything is in place. After all that if it still isn';t workin. Get old fashioned, multimeter check for volts/continuity. Also one thing I ended up doing with my harness was running wires to the indash fuse box. I havent seen your door swap so I'm unsure but those things should help.
did you ever get your locks working? i am having the same problem. do you have pictures of the power door lock control unit? did you need the ex dash harness too? thanks in advance

No i never did ..I'm deciding to just have a shop wire them in while I get an alarm ..I find that much easier but if you have the time ..go for it

Heres a pic I found on google about the door lock control module that you're asking about. It's located underneath the driver side kick pannel.

That's the thing ..you need to change the dash harness in order to have a plug that wires into that module ..which is why I'm avoiding all that trouble

I have a 99 civic dx hatch i bought the the floor harness and the doo r harness for both sides. Do the 99 civic have the same door lock control module in the door as the 98 because my driver door harness does not have a plug to fit it. Is there any one out there that can help me!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! thanks in advance

Thread revival.....
So you definitely need the dash harness since the DX harness will not have the plug for the lock control unit? Why the heck didn't they make it plug and play like the 96-98 models? I have most of the parts for my 99-00 conversion, just need some comfirmation about the harness before I start....what about the rear wipers...will they work with the 99-00 EX harness installed in or would there need to be some splicing or tapping of wires? a link to do this would be cool since my search skills are lacking one large element; it is knowing what stupid KEY words to search for.....THANK YOU

Bringing it back too...
Just did the majority of my power swap today, but I am running into the same issue. I have a 2000 ek hatch, got the harness from a 99-00 Si...HOWEVER, I realized that the power doors I sourced are from a 96-98 Ex with the module in the doors. But my locks still don't work. Just wondering if anyone can help me out here. Is there a way to get the door module to work?
BTW, everything else works fine, just gotta put the finishing touches on tomorrow

I think the lock control units are different from 96-98 than 99-00, that's probably why it isn't working or isn't working properly for you. Unlike me, you're fortunate to get a response, it's been six months and I still haven't gotten a reply from my previous post/question. Good luck tho bro.
just wondering if anyone could help me out a little bit here. it's a little off topic but it does have to do with power door/window conversion. i was wondering where did you guys get the wiring harnesses from? and is it possible to include a list of things that ill need for this project? thanks ahead of time.
You can source the harness/doors from any civic with power doors as long as it is the same production years as your car (96-98 or 99-00)
If you have a 96-98 all you will need are the power doors and the harness and you are good to go. For a 99-00 which I have (but I got 96-98 doors) it is sounding like you need an additional under dash harness that will connect to the power lock module...which you will also need to get.
If anyone reading this can advise me if it is possible to somehow get my 99-00 with 96-98 power doors to work, I would appreciate it. On a minor note, the only thing not working is the locks.

thanks for your help first of all.
and just to make sure, we are just talking about power door locks here right? power window conversion is a whole different topic and consist of a list of other things needed right?

I am talking about swapping a full set of power doors from an EK, SI etc.. onto a DX or CX hatchback. The full power doors bolt onto the non-power door equipped vehicle then you run the harness. I suppose it is possible to just swap over the power lock components, but at that point you might as well just buy the full doors and do everything.
I have the same issue.
i have a 00 dx hatch.
swapped over 99-00 ex floor harness, and door harness w/power wndows
power window works perfectly but my power door locks don't work.
If it's the under dash harness from an EX/SI needed along with the relay i'm assuming it's a pain to install. Any guides on that?
