Icon6 Possible Exhaust Leak??

Hey everyone. I'm new here and I'm looking for some advice or anyone who can help me. About 3 weeks ago I bought a totally stock 98 Integra GSR and I love it. I don't know much about cars but I'm constantly trying to learn.
The other day I was in my car and I revved the engine, it sounded like my exhaust was going off under the middle of my car. It was even making the leaves move under it. It's still coming out the back. I looked under it to try and find a hole but found nothing. Any of you know how I would find out if its actually a leak or not, and if it is a leak what kind of damage could that do to my car if it's not fixed right away? I searched for leaks and the things I've found doesn't make it sound like one. There's no hissing noise, my car isn't running poorly, the check engine light isn't on, and there's no tick or rumble when I start my car. I am sorta of at a lose, and if it isn't an exhaust leak any one have any idea what it might be? Money is very very tight right now for me so I can't go to a shop to find out. I know this probably seems like a stupid thing to post on here, since you can't see the car or hear what its doing, but I could really use some kind of help or advice.

i know exactly what you're talking about..

i have a 99 GSR and i experienced the same 'sound' as you.. i turns out my carsound hi flow cat went bad. before my rebuild, oil was going through my exhaust, therefore deteriorating my catalytic element.

so, i just replaced the carsound cat with a magnaflow hi flow and now the sound is nice and smooth.

hope this helps! GL

does it sound like a tractor or is it making a rattling noise. Take it to a muffler shop, and have them inspect it and quote you. I dont think they will charge you for it.

Doesn't neccessarily have to be a hole to be leaking exhaust. Could be a bad gasket that is leaking exhaust. Especially if you said you saw leaves moving under the car.

No it's not making any weird noises, thats the odd thing. It actually sounds almost normal except for the fact that it's coming out from under the middle of my car.

My thought is the same, most common thing is the gasket between the header and the cat going bad...Which equals bad hp, bad MPG, and a drousying feeling if you are driving in stop and go traffic, because you are breathing in the exhaust fumes...Check to see black carbon like dust around that area...If you do, you have found your problem!
