Default aux input sound

07 si. it has the little 3.5mm aux input plug. so i bought a $5 3.5mm male-male wire and plugged in my ipod, but sometimes with certain tones the speakers make a popping staticy noise that doesnt happen with cd or radio, so its obviously not the speakers. anyone else experience this? is it a shitty wire maybe? or does that aux input system just suck? also does anyone have the actual $200 ipod connection? if so, how good does that work? can you use redundant controls on steering wheel to say skip songs like a cd?

I bought a $5 cable at target. I have a 8gig sandisk mp3 player that makes that noise when i turn it on. Some of the songs makes weird noises but there not the best quality.

I just used a 3.5mm cable that I had laying around the house (a rather cheap one) with my iPod and I have not had problems. It sounds like it may be your cable. If you buy another cable and it still makes the noise, I would start looking and the plugs on both ends (iPod and car). What iPod do you have by the way?

I have the same problem with mine. Got my cable from monoprice.com and when I use it, it sounds like its just a mono plug, and all of the sound come out of the right side speaker only. Didnt do it at first, worked fine, but seems like the connection has gotten crappy over time.

it's probably the cable. my first cable was some wal-mart special with an ifrogz adapter and it always made wierd popping sounds. i don't know if it was the wal-mart cable or the adapter, but once i got a monster cable that didn't require an adapter the popping went away.

It sounds like the connections at the head of the cord have started going bad. This can happen from movement over time. You probably need to get a new cord....and spend a little more on it this time.

i've read up on the honda ipod connection and it sounds like you CAN change through songs using the steering wheel controls. the price isn't worth it imo though. a $20 monster cable will play the music just fine, only thing is that you have to change the song using the mp3 player.

x2, it's the wire. i went through 3 of those shitty ifrogz iphone adapters, each one would go bad over time and play only 1 side of the speakers. i ended up getting a refund after the 3rd one.

I have an '09 EX with the iPod connector, works like a charm and never and any static or weird noises. Quality is as good as my MP3 quality, which as you should note, is barely ever as good as CDs (unless you rip/encode your MP3s in Lossless quality).

Haven't tried my aux yet, will today and see if I have any issues.

The sound is quiet as hell, and there is little to no bass. I prefer CDs.
