Icon2 I'm a newb to the S2k with questions.

I've just recently started getting intrested in these cars. And it seems like the more I think about it the more questions I come up with. I've been looking at posts on here and reading what you all are saying about them, and so I've got a few questions.
1. Would this car be a good daily driver?
2. Will it be a reliable car? (Im sure the answer is yes because its a Honda)
3. How much horse power can the bottom end handle?
4. How much power can the axels actually handle?
5. Seeing as how the newer ones cost to much for my taste, are the older ones just as good or better than the newer ones?
6. Is it easy to turbo a S2k? Because right now I have an 00 Si and I don't really think that it would be hard to turbo, but I do know that most exhaust manifolds make you get rid of AC and PS.
7. If I were to turbo a S2k would I be forced to get rid of my AC/PS with most exhaust manifolds?

I know thats a few questions but thanks for any help! I'm very indecisive about cars because I have so many tastes. But the S2k has really sparked my attention because its RWD and a Honda and a 2.0 and... and... I'm sure I don't have to go on about it. lol. But like I said, thanks for any responses!

Well this should answer most of your turbo questions. Yes they are reliable unless you drive like an idiot, then look up clutches and rear ends. They have made slight changes over the years. If I was to suggest one get an 02 or above for the glass window. And they make fine DDs but take a different car to go grocery shopping....

1. Would this car be a good daily driver?
Do you have kids? a need to hull big objects?

2. Will it be a reliable car? (Im sure the answer is yes because its a Honda)
If you are thinking of boosting it, it can go both ways

3. How much horse power can the bottom end handle?
people have made 700 on a stock bottom end but with a bad tune you wont be making any thing and it wont last
4. How much power can the axels actually handle?

5. Seeing as how the newer ones cost to much for my taste, are the older ones just as good or better than the newer ones?
If they newer ones cost to much for your taste dont plan on being able to spend the money for boost
6. Is it easy to turbo a S2k? Because right now I have an 00 Si and I don't really think that it would be hard to turbo, but I do know that most exhaust manifolds make you get rid of AC and PS. going forced fed, you will spend around 7,000 dollars on a basic set up done right...

7. If I were to turbo a S2k would I be forced to get rid of my AC/PS with most exhaust manifolds?
Why dont you look it up, with rev hard you can keep your ac... PS? I never seen an s2000 with out PS

I've also got a truck for the winter and stuff like that so an S2k wouldn't be my only car. I just ment that the newer ones were a little pricey for being stock. Seeing as how I could buy an older one and spend the difference between an older one and newer one to go turbo.

stock axles should be good for 600whp comfortably given that you don't put weight on it IE wheel hop + keep throttling = broken axles.

the turbo setup can vary in cost, you can probably get a decent setup together for 4-5k$ including management.
Kpro- 2k
tubular manifold - 1k
Turbo of your choice, injectors, wiring(~30$ for me to ghetto rig the resistor box), IC piping, good wastegate, random BOV..

Why is a turbo setup for a S2k so expensive? And does anyone know how that exhaust setup was made on the video that was posted ^^^ up there?

that's pretty much any car if done right. that's buying the parts, install, tuning, it will run you about $4k.

Let me put it to you like this...

If you're planning on doing anything cheap, the S2000 isn't for you.

The search feature has been fixed and works very well now, way better then it ever did on ZF. You should try it out... Try using quote's " " as well, they help allot when searching for phrases like "ap2 differential". They even allow you to search for two letter acronyms like "ek".

What do you guys think of the dash "cluster"? I've only driven a car that had the analog gauges. I'm not too sure if I would like the digital display. How well do ya'll like it?

you're not sure if you like it or not? and you would like us to decide for you.
It's different - only you can decide if you like it...

I don't care who you are, if you're going to turbo charge the S2000, you better have $10-$15k laying around. Otherwise you're asking for a half ***'d job and lots of downtime when you realise you forgot something or another.

When I was asking about the gauges, I was not asking you to make up my mind. I was trying to get your opinion on how well you think it works.

And with the turbo, I would be doing all of the work myself. And yes I do understand that it does cost a lot of money, but I think I would rather turbo a S2k than an 00 Si.

i wouldn't go turbo, i have a 2001 and i'm going to get a kraftwerks s/c, 5500 for everything including ecu only thing it'll need to be tuned, i have a buddy pushing 350+ at the wheels with the same kit

but if you go turbo good luck

Why would you rather go with a supercharger?
