will pressing out a wheel bearing ruin it? wheels stud replacement on da
im changing the wheel studs on my da. the front ones wont hammmer out and the bearing needs pressed out so i can put the new ones in. i called midas and they said they do it but if they press it out it will ruin the wheel bearing? is this true?
yeah man but im not mister money bags lol. the bearings are fine and it would be 75 for the bearing and 130 to put them in. i would deff rather not pay that much just to change my wheel studs. thank you though.
usually the inner bearing race gets stuck to the hub when you press it out.....you can probably press it back on and it should be ok.
personally i would replace the bearing while im in there.....its your call.

yeah me and you probably have completely different incomes my friend lol. its 75 a piece for a bearing + 130 to put them on. about 300 bucks just to replace 10$ wheel studs. i cant afford that. what are the probabilities the bearing will be ruined if it gets punched out?
i know where your coming from bro. not all of us have $$$ to shell out for such a minor repair ,i had this done to my old da9
paid a friend (experienced mechanic) to remove my wheel bearings so he could install some ARP studs. he used the autozone rental tool made specifically for this purpose. it did not ruin the bearings at all.
i drove the car for about a year after w no problems.
