Cage recert question
So I believe my cage needs to be recertified this year. My question is can I run the car without it being recertified to a certain time/speed? Can I only go 11.50 or can I go faster without it being certified?
As I was sitting at work getting text messages if I was going to make it this weekend I was like crap my cage cert ran out so I figured I would ask.
I would love to go this weekend but I have to put my other motor together, pull the old motor install the new motor, and get it tuned. Not going to happen being that I get home at 1AM on fridays.

yeah we just took ours about 2 weeks ago and it was 150 for the recertification, it used to only be 75 but nhra doubled the price just out of no where, their reasoning when asked was that there hadnt been a price increase in over 10 years so it was time that they changed the price... sucks too cuz a friend of ours two weeks prior got his car done at 75 but we didnt know they were having a cert meet at that location. oh well its done now!
if your car is running over 135 mph...i dont think 150 bucks to cert a cage is really that big of a deal lol any price increase sucks, but its nothing to get all bent out of shape over.
i need to renew my liscense again. i heard it may be like starting from scratch having to redo all the runs and what not because there is no more sport compact. i hope thats not true, thats a huge pain in the ***, i'd rather just pay more money lol

hey joe i agree with 150 not being bad to cert a cage, but its the fact that you show up to a race and the entry fee jumps from 165 to about 300 with no warning at all, and payouts stay the same (contingency is a whole other story). also some last minute rule changes were made to several classes with less than a week before the season actually got underway. so basically the 2009 rulebook is actually not up-to-date and its only april, haha.
but then again, none of this except the lic/cert/safety rules pertain to sport compact guys. im just venting for the divis racers.

im not saying i agree with any of it....and when the economy sucks i think raising pricing is about the dumbest thing you could possibly do. lol they have to make their money somewhere though.
would you rather pay a little extra money on a cage cert, or simply have NHRA completely go away. i dont think they would do all of the "shitty" things they are doing if they didnt need to. then again i could be totally wrong haha

yeah the chassis certification is 3 years the lisence is every 2 years, i dunno about having to do everything over again, i hope not, i have to renew my lisence this year too.. gotta get my physical and all still. however i dont use my lisence for sport compact my civic isnt quite that fast lol... its pretty quick though, i've got a 67 camaro that i run that i use my lisence for. so hopefully i wont have to deal with any of that... in prior years i have just had to get a physical and pay them the money for my nhra membership and for my numbers and lisence...
yeah they definately have been up to somehting the past two years. i dont know what to say. my comments were in no way towards you personally though. oh yeah by the way ihra prices went down about a week before nhra prices went up, no joke, haha.
