Default noob ITR build

im kinda a noob to the honda motors and what works cause ive only been into vw's.

have a 96 hatch with 97 spec ITR swap, 98 spec header, pwjdm intake, fujibitsu exhaust...well recently she started to smoke a little and mainly in vtec, so im just gonna tear it out and rebuild it...

from the way i was thinking and been reading on what i wanna do goes.....

stock rebuild bottom end with arp rod bolts, acl bearings, stock rods and oversize ITR pistons and rings and deck the block for clean flat surface for headgasket..

the head i was thinking about skunk2 pro 2 cams but i keep reading i should do s2 retainers and valvesprings and above 12 compression along with a s2 intake manifold and throttle body...maybe port and polish if time and money allows...

i assumed already id want s300 to tune the car and even with say 12.5:1 or around there, would be good enough for 93 octane and semi daily driver (i walk to work everyday) and i live in PA.

im looking for options and opinions since i got about a month til a friend goes away to basics and i get his car to drive for 6 months so i can rebuild my motor and get it tuned if someones local enough to help me there also.

have a look up in the FAQ'S at the top of this forum. That should give you abetter idea about what cams, displacement, compression ratio and tuning will be required to get you on the right track for your build.

and ill be honest, this site sucks for using the search feature and reading through 50 pages of poor mans ITR or people stuffing ITR parts into every other motor and dyno numbers when no 2 motors wont ever be the same.
thats why i asked.

I agree which is why I asked you to look at the FAQ's at the top of this page and not the search function.
