2003 civic, my car died in 5th gear today

2003 civic, my car died in 5th gear today
I was driving home and my 03 w/ 70k died when I put it into neutral today 1 block away from my home. now the CEL is on. I will have it checked tomorrow but based on such a strange thing happening what could it be? I will post the code as soon as I get it.
I have never had a prob with this car and have owned it for 20kish
