Pittsburgh, PA....cars, a cruise, and a club formed
EDIT:April Meet this page, May meet next page, June meet end of page 2 and page 3, July meet end of page 4
Well, due to the endless supply of ebay turbo kits and knockoff parts in this area, I decided to gather a group of friends, along with some other people we knew and form a car club that meets once a month. The goal of the club is to elevate the build quality of some local cars to something more respected and executed well.
At the same time though, it must be considered that some of the members are fathers, have families and have budgets to conform to. The goal is to build over time and progress and elevate quality. Alot of the cars pictured are in transition and builds are about to be underway. I can't force guys to go buy Volks or Gabs, but if the cars are at least clean and executed well, that's all the club requires.
If anyone from pittsburgh or the surrounding area shares similar build goals of clean, street and likes to build balance then let me know. We will have monthly cruises that'll span a good number of miles, so streetability is needed.
Each month a different member plans the cruise and route, etc. This was Larry's cruise.
The cars pictured aren't perfect, and everyone has their improvement goals in place. It was a fun day though with a bunch of guys that just enjoy the hobby. That's what it's all about.
Jay: 96 Integra, LS, buddy club wheels, eibach springs...just got the car a few months ago FOUR kids and a wife. Doing a turbo setup shortly with all quality components.

On left...my wifes car...97 Civic, mostly stock with suspension...H23 built motor on the stand, just awaiting H2D Bisimoto adapter. On right, Josh, built SOHC turbo setup on 16psi. He's constantly improving...

The location we ended up at below. Cooked some burgers and dogs while jay tried to fly with his blanky around his neck. Even with the face, there was no flight.

Cool pic....Larry and another guy left early though so we're missin them.

Rick in his "OG" stance

The gay pride wall at the ice cream place I suppose. Jay felt compelled to park right in front of it....lol.

A few cars missin....one being my delsol. Just wasn't quite done yet. It was a good time, and we hope to get some more people involved.

Quite a few are, yes. Like I said, this just began, and it's my hope that everyone can eventually step away from knockoff wheels.
Several cars don't have Rota's though. Jay has Buddy Clubs, I have Kosei's (car didn't make the meet though) and Matt has Volk's on the way. My wife has Konig's...not all that much better, but at least they aren't a complete knockoff...just a cheaper wheel.
I'd rather see Rota's on a car than knockoff turbo parts, or just a plain stupid lookin ride. Not everyone has the money for a brand wheel, but they're workin on it. Alot of these people aren't that involved online and this is the wheel that is accepted in this area alot. So, until people know better, how can you expect them to buy the right parts.
All in due time. My hope is that everyone will be up to par in a year or less. Not everyone can form a club of magazine cars right out of the gate...this ain't California.
Great looking cars! I'm from the south hills and have yet to see anything at that level, especially in the city. Where were these pics taken at? I'd love to be envolved in something like this
