Default 4spd to 5 spd swap quick question.

I'm going to be helping a friend swap his std for a dx trans soon. He has a new clutch, new mounts and all that. But will his old axles work from the 4 speed. I searched and found very lil info. I've heard of having to swap axles or hubs but really do you have to? He's not going to be putting any uber power in to it its just a dd. Both trans are from a 1990.
Thanks

The dx axles should fit. I have a four speed and I just replaced my axles with dx axles.

Use the stock HF axles with the DX trany
-OR-
swap out hubs for DX.
Either way will work fine.

I had a 4sp and swapped to a 5sp. Used the same axels. You should have no problems.

Exactly... They should slide right into the tranny.
